Absolutely. We have public liability and products liability insurance up to £5m so that you, your family and your property will be fully covered in the unlikely event of accident or damage.

At Richmond Works, we have teams that specialise in every aspect of property re-furbishment. This includes extension builds, electrics, plumbing, kitchen and bathroom installations, roof re-pairs - and all the rooms in between!
Yes. We employ qualified surveyors, contract managers and administration teams to carry out the initial survey. They will provide you with accurate and concise find-ings, recommendations and quotations alongside a programme to complete the work.
Yes. A lot of the jobs we take on require us to source materials and efficiently man-age staff. This ensures that the project is completed to the highest standard. The service we offer at Richmond Works is very inclusive.
In our experience, clients who attempt to project-manage numerous tradesmen and source their own materials, quickly find out that they incur more costs, as op-posed to saving on their budget. You’re more likely to enjoy a more cost-effective and stress-free experience if you leave your entire project in our capable hands, from start to finish.
All new building, decorating and installations are guaranteed for a minimum of 24 months. Depending on the scope of the project, it could be for longer than this timeframe. In the unlikely event you experience a problem within the guarantee period, it will be put right ASAP.
For repairs, we’re unable to offer a one-size-fits-all guarantee, but our reputation – both in the local area and on Checkatrade.com – is the lifeblood of our business. We’d never do anything to compromise that so, if you’re not happy, we’ll do our best to do whatever it takes to make everything right.
We are transparent with our clients from start to finish. As with all building works, there can be unexpected costs in the event that clients change their minds or if we find a structural fault along the way. As soon as we become aware of it, we will make sure that you are informed of any cost changes as well.
It depends! The amount of time taken will depend on the services you require – i.e. plastering, painting, hanging wallpaper etc. – and the size of the project. We al-ways state the estimated amount of time a job will take when we supply you with a quote, and we try very hard to get that timing right. Occasionally, there will be unforeseen circumstances that make a delayed finish inevitable, but we will always update you in real time if that ever becomes the case.
Yes, we can. With a number of successful large-scale projects under our belt, we have built up an excellent relationship with our scaffold suppliers.
Yes. Each new project, installation or decorating job is unique and we will spend a considerable amount of time with you at the beginning to ensure that we deliver exactly what you’re looking for. We pride ourselves on a highly tailored service that focuses on the delivery of exceptional workmanship and client care.
The time it will take to refurbish a house will depend on a couple of factors, like the size of the home and the nature of the materials. On average, cosmetic repairs can take two to three months, while a full refurbishment can last anywhere from three to twelve months.
This depends on a variety of factors such as ambient temperature, air flow, and ventilation. Skim coats generally dry within days, while backing coats and renovat-ing plasters take much longer. Please contact us for best advice

This will depend on a number of factors, such as the square footage of the bath-room or kitchen and the complexity of the project. The final bill reflects the cost of materials combined with the cost of labour. Typically, a kitchen or bathroom, remodelled by Richmond Works, costs between £6,000 to £30,000. The average Richmond Works client pays a little more than £13,000 for their kitchen or bathroom project.
A small job will take less time to complete; larger or more complex jobs take more time. Typically, there are three phases:
- Phase One: Design
- Phase Two: Selection of cabinetry and appliances Lead time varies from manufacturer to manufacturer but typically takes approximately two to twelve weeks to be delivered.
- Phase Three: Job completion The timeframe from demolition through to a fully-working kitchen or bathroom is typically three to eight weeks. Times will vary based on the complexity of the job, and your designer will be able to give you a more specific timeframe based on your job requirements.
Yes. Our refurbishment team at Richmond Works has decades of experience with these kinds of projects. As with all our jobs, we’ll assess the scope of the work in-volved, the rooms and any structural considerations before providing you with a consultation and estimate.
We remove any leftover rubbish materials from the site ourselves. On larger pro-jects, we might use a skip. We ensure that all rubbish is disposed of responsibly and carry out good housekeeping practices on site that adhere to all best-practice environmental policies.

I can do any kind of decorating job, large or small but regardless of the job size, I pride myself on being a master craftsman and delivering a flawless result that really enhances your home.
The only work I can’t bring myself to do is shoddy work, I’ll never “just slap a bit of paint on a ceiling” as it is disrespectful to the property, the owner and it doesn’t allow me to display the hard won skills I’ve acquired over the years.
If you can imagine it, I can do it, from putting up shelves and curtains to fixing fences and fitting kitchens.
You can check out a list of my most commonly requested services on the handyman page, but this list really doesn’t cover everything so just ask if you’re not sure. I’ll always welcome a call from you or you can stop me if you see me around town walking my dog, Sasha loves meeting new people and is very friendly!
If you need qualified tradesmen as part of a job, I know a great plumber and electrician who have both done work for me in my own home.
All decorating work and new installations (fitting cabinets etc.) are guaranteed for 12 months and in the unlikely event of you having a problem I’ll be round to put it right ASAP. For repairs I can’t offer a one size fits all guarantee but my reputation, both in the local area andon Checkatrade, is the lifeblood of my business and I’d never do anything to compromisethat, so if you’re not happy I’ll do my best to put a smile back on your face.
A customer testimonial or a referral to someone’s friend is the ultimate validation of everything that I do and I work hard to earn them on every job, to my mind that’s worth as much as any guarantee.
Yes! I will always try to give you an estimate over the phone but for bigger jobs it may be necessary to visit the property before I can provide the estimate. I try to visit at the most convenient time for you and get out from under your feet as soon as I can, there’s no charge for this and no obligation.
I do all the work myself, with the exception of where we have mutually agreed that we will engage a qualified tradesperson to complete electrical or plumbing work. I have to be sure of delivering a perfect end result for you and until I meet someone who has the same skills and high standards as I have to work with, that means doing every last job myself.
I can work evenings or weekends by arrangement but most people prefer that I do the work whilst they are at work to minimise disruption. If you have a preference for work being completed at a specific time then of course this can be arranged.
I spend most of my time working in South West London but sometimes I am able to work for customers outside the area. It’s always worth giving me a call to check as you never know and even if I can’t help I might be able to recommend someone who I know is reliable who can.
You can pay by cheque, cash or bank transfer.
I have full public liability insurance and you’re welcome to see a copy of the policy documents before I begin work.
I believe that part of the value that I offer is convenience for you and part of that is punctuality and working to your schedule not trying to make you fit mine. Not only do you get a set appointment time, you can choose when best suits you too.
Small amounts of rubbish I remove myself when I go; for larger volumes I can arrange rubbish collection and disposal for you if required.
At the end of every day on a job I always tidy up and leave the work site as neat as possible, at the end of the job I clean up until the area is as pristine as when I began.
